What we do to your seat
A seat that lives outside in Mallorca takes a beating: the sun cracks the vinyl, water gets in through tired seams and the foam ends up permanently damp. At Tapicero Mallorca we strip it back and rebuild it properly:
- Full recovering in materials that stand up to sun, rain and daily wear, with sealed seams so no water reaches the foam.
- Anti-slip bases and finishes, so you do not slide forward under braking or through corners.
- Custom work: pick the colour, add your logo, or ask for contrast stitching.
- Gel inserts in the seat, worth it if you ride long routes and want real comfort on the road.
- Made-to-measure seat covers to protect the new upholstery when the bike is parked in the street.

How much does it cost to recover a motorcycle seat in Mallorca?
As a guide: naked bikes from €60 for a colour change or straightforward recover; trail bikes and scooters from €75 with waterproof, anti-slip materials; customs and larger bikes from €125, with the option of a gel insert. The final price depends on the model, the condition of the seat and the materials chosen.
Do you really do it the same day?
In most cases, yes. Bring the bike or just the seat to our workshop in Cala Major in the morning and you can normally pick it up the same afternoon. Message us first on WhatsApp to confirm we have a slot that day, especially in summer.
What is a gel insert and do I need one?
It is a gel pad set into the foam of the seat that spreads your weight and takes the pressure off on long rides. If you only ride around Palma you will not miss it; if you do full-day routes through the Serra de Tramuntana, it makes a noticeable difference.
Can I bring just the seat, without the bike?
Yes, and it is the most convenient option. Most seats come off with a key or a couple of bolts. Bring it to the workshop and collect it recovered — you do not need to leave the bike with us.
Will the seat survive being parked outside all summer?
That is exactly what we build for. We use UV- and water-resistant materials and seal the seams so rain does not soak into the foam, which is what ruins a seat from the inside. If the bike lives on the street, a made-to-measure cover on top will add years to it.
