What we upholster for your business
Furniture in a Mallorcan venue does in one summer what a sofa at home does in five years. At Tapicero Mallorca we recover it instead of replacing it, which is normally a fraction of the cost of new contract furniture and much faster than waiting on a supplier order:

Hotel and restaurant furniture: recover it instead of replacing it
Most hotels and restaurants in Mallorca that go looking for new contract furniture do not actually need it. On the great majority of dining chairs, bar stools and fixed banquettes the frame is still sound and only the fabric and the foam are finished. Recovering that same piece normally costs well under half of buying a replacement, and you keep the design, the height and the fit you already chose for the room.
The other saving is time. A contract furniture order means lead times, shipping to the island and a delivery window you do not control. We work in batches from our own workshop in Palma, so a dining room, a lobby or a floor of bedrooms is renewed without the venue closing and without waiting on a container. If a frame is genuinely beyond saving, we say so before quoting. Before you sign anything, it is worth knowing which hotel furniture suppliers in Mallorca actually manufacture on the island and which import — it is the difference between weeks and months.

Plan it for the off season
If your business is seasonal, the cheapest and least disruptive time to reupholster is between November and March: the venue is quiet or closed, our workshop has more capacity, and you open the season with everything looking new. Booking the job in autumn also means you are not competing for a slot with every other venue in Palma come April.

Do you offer a better price for larger quantities?
Yes. The more chairs, stools or benches we upholster in the same order, the better the guide price per unit — the pattern is already cut and we make better use of the fabric. Final pricing depends on the volume and the condition of the furniture, and the quote is always free.
Can you work without us closing the business?
That is how we normally do it. We agree a schedule with you and work in batches, taking away part of the furniture at a time so the venue keeps trading. In seasonal businesses we usually plan the job for the closed months or the shoulder season.
What fabrics do you use for hospitality?
Contract-grade fabrics: high Martindale rub counts for intensive use, stain-resistant and wipe-clean finishes, and outdoor-rated textiles for terraces exposed to sun and rain. We bring samples so you can see and feel them before deciding.
Do you work with hotels, or only bars and restaurants?
Both. We work with bars, restaurants and cafés, and also with hotels, agroturismos, holiday rentals, clinics and offices across Mallorca — anywhere furniture takes more punishment than it would at home.
We manage a holiday rental. Can you turn furniture around between lets?
Yes, and it is a common request in Mallorca. Tell us the changeover dates and we will fit the work into the gap. Send photos on WhatsApp with the number of pieces and we will come back within 24 hours with a guide price and a realistic timeline.
Do you manufacture hotel furniture?
We are an upholstery workshop, not a furniture supplier, so we do not sell new chairs or tables. What we do is recover the upholstered furniture you already have — dining chairs, bar stools, banquettes, lobby sofas — for a fraction of what replacing it would cost, and build upholstered pieces to measure, such as bedroom headboards. For a full fit-out we are happy to work alongside your interior designer or joiner.
